The Hunger Never Stops

I was speeding down the highway

Speeding mighty fast

Feeling sorry for the trouble

Other people have\two thousand years waiting for the judgement day

Everybody knows it’s slowly coming our way

Everybody knows that we’re running out of time

That’s one thing nobody’s going to deny

From the day you were born up to when you were just a kid

Had some trouble leaving home

Now you find that’s a thing you never did

First you ran out of trust

Now you’re running out of reason

If you do what you must

You can buy back your freedom

The rich get richer and the poor ain’t never getting none

Even with your belly full the hunger never stops

Some kids dream about a garden with a pool

Others so depressed they want to quit school

Nobody cares about what you do or what you did

There’s plenty good others we don’t need new kids

Some just got a blessing others seem to live under a curse

Some want to get better while others only try not to get worse

Trying to breed what we killed first

Talking about those great South American birds

One man sets fire to a whole nation

Other men die trying to save our creation

Sell them bombs to destroy the cities in the land

Then we send somebody out there to rebuild them again

Ain’t it a craze when you try to compare

The way a dime is raised to how it’s spent over there

That’s the difference between the human brain and the mind

You can’t make a fortune counting nickels and dimes

The rich get richer and the poor ain’t never getting none

Even with your belly full the hunger never stops
